Greenville, TX - Michael C. Moore, aged 82, of Greenville, TX, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024, from a variety of major health issues.

He was born in Marshall, Texas on June 24, 1942, to the late Angela (Moore) Akeman and Jack Bonham Moore. He attended high school in Hugo, OK where he played basketball and graduated as valedictorian in 1960. He received his BS degree in math and MS degree in statistics from Oklahoma State University, graduating in 1966. He was married to Mildred Kathleen (Kay) Moore on January 24, 1964.

Mike spent his childhood and youth working on the family circus, Carson & Barnes, selling popcorn and tickets, caring for Mabel the elephant, and balancing the books. He taught computer classes while pursuing his college degree and then built a career in the field of computer programming and software that spanned punch cards to 3D modeling. He was a determined entrepreneur who loved his work and launched numerous businesses, some in partnership with his beloved sisters, Wanda and Annie.

Mike was a devoted son, brother, and father, who worked tirelessly to support and care for his family. He was also a longstanding member of First United Methodist Church Rockwall, which he served with great faith and humility. He had an abiding passion for Rockwall High School wrestling and OSU wrestling. He spent more than 20 years keeping stats, supporting, and traveling with the Rockwall High School's talented team.

Michael Moore was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Wanda and Madelyn. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kay; his three daughters, Angela, Lisa, and Deborah; his six grandchildren Cooper, Mandy, Austin, Tyler, Payton, and Fiona; his three great-grandchildren Casen, Shelby, and Cohen; and his sister, Martha (Annie). He is further survived by a nephew and niece, Michael and Helen, and many other relatives.
