John Black Bullock
John Black Bullock, age 78, of Rockwall, TX, passed away on February 1, 2020. He was born January 22, 1942, in Asheboro, NC to Braxton Craig Bullock and Mary Harrison (Redding) Bullock. John served his country in the United States Air Force, which lead to his passion for flying. Once out of the service, John started his own business as a Private Investigator. He had a special gift for marketing that was unparalleled. He would often end the sales call with. "I don't care what you call me, just call me." John successfully ran his business for 40 years. He worked on numerous high profile cases throughout his career. John would hire people who were just starting out and help them to have successful careers of their own. During the mid 1980s, John proudly served as a member of the Rockwall City Council and was heavily involved in coaching at the YMCA throughout the 70s. John had a heart of gold and was a mentor to a lot of people both in his personal life and business. John loved to have fun and travel with his first wife, Carrol. He and his second wife, Marilyn enjoyed the comforts of being home and being together. John will be deeply missed by everyone who loved him. John is survived by his loving wife: Marilyn Flora (Lord) Bullock; sons: Jon Gregory Bullock, and wife Danielle of Shreveport, LA, Bruce Harrison Bullock and wife Kim of Edmond, OK, Michael Karl Bullock and wife Jessica of Dallas, TX, Jeffrey Black Bullock and wife Margarita of Dallas, TX; grandchildren: Justin, Caroline, Duncan, Tyler, and Brooke; brother: James McMillan Bullock and wife Margaret of Concord, NC; sister: Mary John McDonald-Spencer of Johns Creek, GA; stepsons: Wes Bryant of Dallas, TX; Wayne Bryant and wife Nancy of Richmond, TX, Josh Bryant and wife Caroline of Katy, TX, and six step-grandchildren, and close family friend whom John treated like a son, David Pipkin. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Carrol; his brother: William Redding (Butch) Bullock; and stepson: Jake Bryant of Dallas, TX.

I went to high school with John. Later visited with him several times when I was in Dallas Texas in the late 80’s. Great guy ,very good athlete and dancer!
