Bedford, TX - Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Counselor, and Friend

Deborah C. Wines, age 73, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025, surrounded by those who loved her, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Known to many as Debby, she devoted her life to helping others, finding deep purpose and fulfillment in her work as a Licensed Professional Counselor. For more than fifty years, she provided compassionate mental health care, guidance, and support to those in need. In addition to her professional achievements, Debby was a woman of deep faith and quiet spirituality. Her belief in the power of healing—both emotional and spiritual—shaped her approach to counseling and her daily life. She often said that her work was not just a career, but a calling. One of her guiding Bible verses was, Matthew 5:16 (NRSV) "In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven." Her empathy, and steadfast support touched the lives of countless individuals and families, leaving a legacy of hope and unmatched generosity.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sigrunn and Jason Yost; her brother and sister-in-law, Sid and Danette Johnston; her sister, Jacquie Johnston; her grandchildren, Ethan, Dylan, and Morgan Yost; nieces, Jennifer and Tiffany Johnston; and nephew-in-law, David Thomasson. Debby was preceded in death by her parents, Carroll S. and Geraldine Johnston.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Ashley and Ara of Golden Magnolia Personal Care Home in Bedford, Texas for the exceptional care, kindness, and comfort they gave Debby during her final year.
