Willa W. Powell, 93, of Hot Springs, Ark., previously of Rockwall, Texas, passed away Feb. 18, 2018.
She was born Nov. 2, 1924, in Tulsa, Okla., to Feris M. and Edith (Gray) Wiggins. Mrs. Powell was very caring, and during her working years she loved her career as a medical assistant. She was a hard worker and had a no-nonsense personality. She was also a very loving mother and grandmother and a generally lovely woman. Mrs. Powell was a member of First United Methodist Church in Heath, Texas.
She is survived by her son, Gary Powell and wife Alice of Bismarck, Ark.; grandchildren Tiffany Michelle West and Robert Lee Prikryl; great-grandson Lucas West; sister Alouise Van Zant; and many nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband R. Lee Powell, son Roland Lee Powell and daughter Sherry Lynn Prikryl.
Graveside service was held at 3 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 22, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 7405 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX 75225.
The family received friends Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m.
