TJ Epperson, 87, of Rockwall, Texas, for 38 years, previously of Dallas, passed away Feb. 14, 2016. He was born Dec. 29, 1928, in Lawton, Okla., to Sidney J. and Junia M. (Walker) Epperson. TJ was of the Methodist faith and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He served proudly in the United States Navy and retired from American Airlines after 42 years as a flight engineer. TJ was a 32nd Degree Mason as well as a Shriner. TJ was also a private pilot. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Laverne Epperson; children Scott James Epperson and wife Suzanne, Thomas James Epperson and wife Pamela, Mark James Epperson and wife Toni, and Lynda Chauncy; grandchildren Aaron James Epperson, Natalie Paige Hawley, Ashley A. Epperson, Brandy Beurdick, Sarah Epperson, Brian James Epperson, Danny Chauncy, Hilarie Suzanne Hawley, and Taylore Gregory Hawley; along with a host of loving relatives and friends. ] He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Norma Soday-Thorn Bacon, and nephews Michael James House and Ronald James House. Memorial services will be held Friday, Feb. 19, at 11 a.m., at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall Chapel with Brother Richard Brunson officiating.
