James Scott Simpson passed into a very beautiful and peaceful eternity Saturday, Sept. 6. Our family has lost a very bright light; one that each of us will never forget and always appreciate.
Scott was born in Plano where he spent his youth growing up just north of Plano. After graduating from Plano High School he joined the U.S. Air Force where he received specialized training as a radar technician. He met Lynda Yvonne Boyd of Wylie and courted her for just over a year before proposing to her. Scott was stationed at Cape Cod, Mass., and he and Lynda resided there until his honorable discharge. At that time they moved back to their beloved Texas where Scott began his career, and they both began the loving endeavor of building their beautiful family.
Scott is survived by his wife, Lynda, of Rockwall; a daughter, Diana Gwen Kucera and husband Bob of Richardson; son Rev. Mark Scott Simpson and wife Gale of Canyon Lake; son James Tracey Simpson and wife Sonia of Doylestown, Pa.; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Scott passed from this life on the exact date of his and Lynda’s 62nd wedding anniversary.
A memorial service was conducted at 10 a.m., Sept. 5, at the First Christian Church on Stone Street in Wylie. Rev. Mark S. Simpson officiated at the service.
