Rosemary's Story

Rosemary Hall Scott was born May 6, 1927, to Maude Ball Hall and Hugh Olin Hall Sr. and passed away in Rockwall on May 12, 2015.  
She was married to the love of her life, Victor H. Scott, on July 24, 1949, in Rockwall. He preceded her in death on July 18, 1975. Victor was a World War II veteran serving with the 1st Marine Division in the South Pacific and China.
Rosemary was an honor graduate of Rockwall High School, University of North Texas and Texas A&M University-Commerce, where she earned a master of science in home economics. She was a retired professor of Tarleton State University in Stephenville. In 1988 she was awarded “Outstanding Home Economist of Texas.” Rosemary also taught at DeLeon High School and Anadarko (Okla.) High School. Other memberships included American and Texas Home Economics Assoc., American Assoc. of University Women and Delta Kappa Gamma. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church where she served in many leadership positions.  
Rosemary is survived by her son, Dr. Victor Mark Scott and wife Vicki of Ft. Worth; two grandchildren, Haley and Alec of Fort Worth; a brother, Ralph M. Hall of Rockwall; sister-in-law Doris Jane Hall of Whitney; nephews Hamp Hall and wife Jody, Brett Hall and wife Karen and Blakely Hall and wife Catherine, all of Rockwall; great-nephews, Jay Hall and wife Katherine, Steven Lule and wife Leanna, Andrew Jeanes, Christopher Hall and Hugh O. Hall IV; and great-nieces Sarah and Amanda Hall and Crystal Kemper and husband Kyle. In addition, she is survived by sisters-in-law Doris Holland and husband Leonard of Granbury, Morene McDougal and Carolyn McDougal, all of Comanche, and Peggy Scott of San Antonio; nephews Terry Scott and wife Susie, Larry McDougal and wife Glenna and Kirk Scott; and nieces Donna Sue McDougal, Jenifer Holland and husband Dan and Dana Pellegrine and husband Tony.  
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, husband Victor, brother Hugh O. Hall Jr., sister-in-law Mary Ellen Hall, brothers-in-law Kenneth Scott and E.J. McDougal, nephews Hugh Olin Hall III, Rodney McDougal and Tim Scott and niece Rebecca Hall Jeanes.
Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 17, at First United Methodist Church of Rockwall with Dr. Joe Pool officiating. Interment will take place at 1 p.m. Monday, May 18, at Garden of Memory Cemetery, 325 CR 409 at Hwy 16 in Comanche.
