Robert Freeman Post, 94, of Rockwall passed away Nov. 2, 2013.
He was born March 2, 1919 in Irvington, N.J., to Sterling D. and Lillian (Day) Post. Bob proudly served his country in the 1060th AAF Unit as an intelligence specialist during WWII in the India Theatre. He lived in Madison, N.J., from 1950 to 1995, where he raised his family. Bob worked for C.R. Daniels, Inc. as a salesman for 41 years and received two Salesman of the Year awards. He was a loyal fan of the New York Giants, both football and baseball. Bob and his family attended the First United Methodist Church of Madison, N.J. In 1995, after moving to Rockwall, he attended the First United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Harvesters Sunday School Class.
Bob is survived by his children, Don Post and wife Linda of Stowe, Vt., and Dot Gordon and husband Jay of Rockwall; grandchildren Tyler Post and wife Stacie, Alexi Post, Graham Post, Casey Gordon Smith and husband Will and Cole Gordon; sister Lois Gaertner of Farmingdale, N.J.; 11 nephews and one niece.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marguerite Pennell Post.
Memorial services were at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall Chapel on Nov. 12 at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that any donations be made in his memory to either the First United Methodist Church of Rockwall or the First United Methodist Church of Madison, N.J.
