Robert Elmore Massey Jr., 94, of Rockwall, Texas, since the 1980s, passed away March 24, 2016.
He was born Aug. 12, 1921, in Dallas, Texas, to Robert Elmore Sr. and Novie P. (Merril) Massey. Bob had been under the loving care of his son, Robert, for the last three years. He served his country in the United States Army before eventually ending up in the insurance business as an insurance agent. He was a member of the Freemasons and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Rockwall. Robert loved to go fishing and invested much of his time in being a Boy Scout leader for Troop 159. No parent was more loved.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of almost 70 years, Mozelle "Mo" (Cupp) Massey; children Robert Massey III and Lynne Smith; grandchildren John Crossland, Aimie Crossland, and David Crossland; three great-grandchildre; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, at Rest Haven Memorial Park - Garden of Inspiration with Joe Pool officiating. The family received friends at graveside beginning at noon on Tuesday.
Resthaven Funeral Home - Rockwall Chapel was in charge of arrangments.
