Robert 'Bob''s Story
Robert "Bob" Winfield Scott, 78, of Rockwall, Texas, since 2005, previously of Amarillo, Texas, passed away July 22, 2016.
He was born May 9, 1938, to Winfield William Scott and Vera (Gover) Scott in Worcester, Mass., but grew up in Milbury, Mass. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was an engineer in Amarillo at Pantex and later worked for many years in the construction industry. Bob and Carol were members of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Rockwall. Bob collected Lionel trains and loved antique cars. He enjoyed going to Las Vegas, often vacationing there with his wife, Carol. Bob loved his family dearly and was blessed to be able to move closer to his sons and grandchildren for the last 11 years.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of nearly 58 years, Carol Scott; sons Mike Scott and wife Dorothy and Keith Scott; grandchildren Shelly Nonus and husband Drew and Abby Scott; siblings Carol Ili and husband Zoran, Kathy Oslar and husband Ed and Jack Scott and wife Roseanne; niece and nephews Zorana Ili, Jayson Ili and wife Cathy and Monica Custer and husband Nick; and great-nieces and nephews Lola Ili, Madison Ili, Ryan Ili and Lindsey Keys and husband Justin; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Winfield and Vera Scott; his mother- and father-in-law, Quixie and Johnie Rucker; brother-in-law Vern Rucker; nephew Mark Rucker and sister-in-law Dorothy Rucker.
A graveside service will be held at 11:15 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1, at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating.
Rest Haven Funeral Home Rockwall Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
