
Reba Mansell
She was born May 16, 1935, in Athens, Texas, to Truman and Clemmie Cumbie. She grew up and attended schools in Lubbock. Reba met and married her beloved husband, Don Richard Mansell, and they raised their two sons in Seminole and Waxahachie.
After their move to Rockwall, they were active members of First Baptist Church, where Reba was also active in the Hannah Sunday school class. She mentored and taught various youth Sunday school classes.
Reba was a dedicated, faithful servant of the Lord, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law and treasured friend to many. She was an active 50-plus year member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, where she held the offices of President, Valentines Sweetheart, Girl of the Year and Opti Mrs. member.
Reba is survived by her sons, Richard Lee (Rik) Mansell of Royse City, and John Paul Mansell and wife Rhonda of Boulder, Colo.; grandchildren, Austin Richard Mansell and Britani Caplick, both of Lavon; great-grandson, Zade Mansell of Lavon; and great-granddaughter, Destiny Nicole Mansell of Rockwall.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Richard Mansell, and her parents.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 1 p.m., in the M.L. Jones Chapel at First Baptist Church, 610 S. Goliad Street, Rockwall, TX 75087, with Pastor Steve Swofford officiating. Interment will follow in Rockwall Memorial Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday evening, 6-8 p.m., at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location.
