Peter Chase Sandmore


Longtime Rockwall resident Peter Chase Sandmore passed away at home at the age of 81 on the morning of June 28, 2019.
Pete was born to Siguard, his father, and Faith, his mother, on April 10, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois.
The family later moved to New York.
He graduated from Scarsdale High School in 1956. Later he received his Bachelor of Science & Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Wyoming in 1964 with honors on the Dean's list.
Pete served his country as Captain in the Air Force for 16 years. Later in life he went to work for Raytheon in Greenville, Texas and retired as Director of Systems Engineering.
Pete enjoyed going to Winstar, playing the horses, watching the Rangers play ball and reading.
He is preceded in death by his father Siguard, mother Faith and younger brother John.
He is survived by his twin brother Phil, Phil's wife Linda of Westlake Village, California and his sister-in-law Barbara of Woodbury, Connecticut.
He will be missed and fondly remembered by long time friends Bill and Diane Fuhrman, Julie Wilson, Dan Mesenbrink, Richard and Becky Coleman, Maxine Kennedy, Jeff and Mary Claire Haack, Millie Lambert, Elaine Peterson and Steve Monk.
His Hospice Nurses were very caring and truly appreciated. Many thanks to all his doctors and their staff.
A memorial service will be held at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on July 30 at 11:15 a.m.
