NANCY's Story

Nancy Brauneis Tate, 66, and a 44-year resident of Rockwall, passed away May 26, 2014.  
She was born Aug. 9, 1947 in Boston, Massachusetts, to Albert and Ingeborg Brauneis. Nancy was the former owner of a catering business. She taught folk art painting and was a mentor at Rochelle Elementary School. Nancy was a former Soroptomist Club president, a volunteer with the Rainbow Room in support of Child Protective Services and a volunteer for many other local organizations. She was once named “Rockwall County Volunteer Woman of the Year.”
Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Garvin Tate; sons Evan Tate, wife Erin and children Emily and Ethan, Nathan Tate, wife Laura and son Grayson, and Brandon Tate and wife Tayler; a brother, Alan Brauneis; and sisters Barbara Fisher and Ruth Lebovitz.
Services will be private.  
Arrangements are by Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel.
