Lucile Tate, 103 and a 46-year resident of Rockwall, passed away April 11, 2013.
She was born March 8, 1910, in Dallas to Jesse and Ida (Mann) Parrish.
Lucile and her husband, Garvin Tate Sr., started Tate Farms in Rockwall in 1962 and moved there shortly after. The farm has now been occupied by four generations of the Tate family.
Lucile previously lived in San Antonio, New Orleans, Tyler and University Park.
She was a homemaker and an active member of First Baptist Church of Rockwall.
Lucile is survived by her son, Gavin Tate Jr. and wife Nancy; grandsons Evan Tate and wife Erin, Nathan Tate and wife Laura and Brandon Tate and wife Tayler; and great-grandchildren Emily Lucile Tate and Ethan Louis Tate.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garvin Tate Sr.
A graveside service was held at 1 p.m., April 16, at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
A memorial service followed at 2 p.m. in Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel with Jesse Crouch officiating.
