Lonnie Ray Cannon Sr., 73, of McLendon-Chisholm, Texas, passed away March 6, 2017, in his home with his loving wife and children by his side.
He was born June 8, 1943, in Dallas, Texas, to Walter Glenn and Tince Maxine (Grisham) Cannon. Lonnie served his country proudly in the United States Navy and later became a signal technician for the City of Garland. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Lonnie was always quick to open their home to his children's friends and any kids in need. He was quick-witted, always joking and never met a stranger. Lonnie was a family man and treated everyone the same. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing. "He was a good man."
Lonnie is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Marilyn Cannon; children Kimberly Lynn Rohlf and husband Dwayne, Lonnie Cannon Jr. and wife Cassie and Stephanie Cannon Reed; adopted sons and daughters (you know who you are); grandchildren Kacee Deeks and husband Sean, Amanda Echols, Ashley Cannon, Shelby Cannon, Kaitlyn Reed, Steven Reed, Brent Cannon and wife Karissa, Justin Cannon, Tyler Cannon, Cheyene Fouse and Chloe Camron; great-grandchildren Abby Lynn, Zoey Deeks, Bennett Mars, Ryker Deeks, Mia Cannon, Rylynn Nicole Smith and Serenity Cannon; brother Terry Cannon and wife Sarah; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Judy Russell and husband Floyd; and son Walter Ray Cannon.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel.
