Judith 'Judee''s Story
Judith "Judee" A. Chapman, 76, of Rockwall, Texas, formerly of Montana and California, passed away May 15, 2016. She was born Dec. 3, 1939, in North Hollywood, Calif., to James R. Crow and Mary A. (Burns) Crow. Judee was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. An excellent seamstress, she was talented to make vestments for priests to wear during services. Judee also made soft stocking caps for military men and women. She was very proud of these and made hundreds of them for new recruits deploying overseas. Judee, also known as "G-ma," was a family woman who was known for always having a Coke in her hand.
She is survived by her daughters, Kimberley Cortopassi and husband Mick and Julie Graf and husband David; sons David Chapman and Michael Chapman; grandchildren Robert Cortopassi and wife Marina, Matthew Cortopassi and wife Jennifer, Brett Cortopassi and wife Stephanie, Laura Pate, Caitlin Pate and Rebekah Ward and husband Haden; great-grandchildren Emily Cortopassi, Mickey Cortopassi, Nathaniel Cortopassi, Audrey Cortopassi, Anabelle Cortopassi, Lucca Cortopassi, Emma Moran, Caleb Moran and Lizzie Rae Ward; a brother-in-law, Bill Powell; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Russell Chapman; son Michael Scott; sisters Audrey Powell and Dawn Powelly; and her parents.
A memorial service and inurnment will occur at a later date in Montana.
Rest Haven Funeral Home of Rockwall is in charge of local arrangements.
