John “Jack” Pines, 76, of Rockwall passed away Nov. 27, 2014, of heart failure.
He was born Feb. 8, 1938, in Zanesville, Ohio, to Edward and Beatrice (McFerren) Pines. Jack served his country in the U.S. Navy for four years. Jack was a vibrant member of the Lake Side Village golf community and a constant and visible supporter of the Food Pantry at Helping Hands. For the past 10 years he and his wife Sally could be found stocking shelves and filling orders for those in need.
Jack is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sally (Rose) Pines; sons Tod Pines and wife Kerry and Trent Pines and husband Ken Erdmann; grandchildren Tyler Christian Pines, Quaid Jackson Pines, Kaiden Archer Pines, Finnley Crosby Pines, Ashleigh Nicole Erdmann and Lindsay Marie Erdmann; great-granddaughter Paiton Marie Broda and sister Vicki Sue Schmid.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Kenny Dodson and best friends Pugsley and Pugster.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Nov. 30, at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel with Dr. Joe Pool officiating.
