John "Billy"'s Story
John "Billy" William Gage passed away suddenly on December 25, 2017, at the age of 77. His family takes comfort in knowing that he spent his first day in Heaven celebrating the birth of Jesus.
Billy was born on September 19, 1940, in Ralls, Texas. He beamed when he explained how his parents got to "choose" him. Billy spent his youth making mischief in Big Spring, Texas. Although Billy always lived life to the fullest, his adventure truly began when he met and married the love of his life, Debbie, in 1970. They built a family of three children, five grandchildren, and many spoiled pets. Billy was a longtime member of the Garland business community. BG Micro's customers from the past 32 years will remember Billy as honest and hardworking. He maintained a strong and contagious faith throughout his life, leading many of his family members to the Lord.
Billy is survived by his wife of 47 years, Debbie; and their children, Jerry (Alex) Gage, Christopher Gage, and Sascha (Danny) Carder. He will lovingly be remembered as "Poppy" by his grandchildren; Lauren, Preston, and Parker Gage; Kyleigh Hinojosa; and Jacob Gonzalez. He will also be missed by his longtime business associate, Tammie Mayse. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, William and Delores Gage; and his in-laws, Joe and Nora Sanders.
There will be an intimate service held for immediate family near his home in Fate, Texas. Additionally, the family extends an invitation to all who loved Billy to join them for a celebration of life reception at Highland Oaks Church anytime between 4:00-6:00 PM on Saturday, December 30, 2017.
