Jerry Lee LaFon, 71, of Royse City, Texas, and the surrounding areas his entire life, passed away July 22, 2017.
He was born April 17, 1946, in McKinney, Texas, to Ruby Ray and Juanita (Shewbert) LaFon. Jerry was one of a kind, full of life and had a beautiful soul. Everyone who met him absolutely loved him. Jerry was an awesome dad and grandfather and he adored his family. He was the owner and operator of L&M Parkit Markit, a used car lot in Quinlan, Texas. Always living life to the fullest, Jerry enjoyed fishing and being out on the water, dancing, listening to music and especially spending time with family and friends.
Jerry is survived by his loving children, Kelli Forrest and husband "Scooter," Jerry Lee LaFon II and wife Elizabeth and Chelsea Maelynn LaFon; significant other Patricia Johnson; brother Roy LaFon and wife Nancy; sisters Shirley Thurman and Judy Squires; grandchildren Mycah and Josey Forrest; stepchildren Brian Farley and wife Treva and Chris Farley; and stepgrandchildren Brandi, Julia and Carissa Farley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Michael Lee LaFon, and brother Larry Lynn LaFon.
A celebration of life was held 10 a.m. Thursday, July 27, at Rest Haven Funeral Home - Rockwall Chapel with Minister Wayne New officiating.
The family received friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
