Jeanette's Story

Martha Jeanette Osborne Sharpe was born in Obion, Tenn., June 2, 1931, to Huey Adam Osborne and Myrtle Goodman Osborne. She grew up in Tennessee with a zest for life. She and her family moved to Tallulah, La, as a young teenager. She graduated from Tallulah High School, then graduated from Bish Mathis Institute of Business in Monroe, La. She married Archie Vonzhel ”Vonnie” Sharpe Dec., 31, 1949. They had four daughters. She worked for Staplcotn in Tallulah for 30 years, being adored by many Delta farmers and friends all over the South. She had a beautiful smile, an infectious positive attitude, and always brought life wherever she went. 
She lived in Carthage, Texas, Newellton, La., and moved to Rockwall, Texas, in 2005 for 10 years. She was a member of Pure Heart Fellowship Church and was devoted to her Bible study class and the Women’s ministry. She was a mentor to many. She was a member of the Red Hats known as Jet-Set Jeanette, the Rockwall Garden Club, Newcomers of Rockwall, and played in several bridge clubs. Most of all, she loved being with family and friends and will always be remembered as a true, classic Southern Belle.  
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Myrtle Osborne; her brother, Ilar Osborne; sister Ruby Osborne Alexander; and four other siblings.
Jeanette is survived by her four daughters, Vonette Tully of Rockwall, Kim Doyle of Baton Rouge, La., and Sherri Limely and Shannon Sharpe, both of Kyle, Texas; sons-in-law Doyl Tully of Rockwall, Kenny Doyle of Baton Rouge, La., and Rod Limely of Kyle; grandchildren Benjamin Tully and wife Kayla, Samuel Tully, Joseph Tully, Luke Tully of Rockwall, John Tully of Pensacola, Fla., Christopher Doyle and wife Leslie of Baton Rouge, La., Mark Doyle of Seattle, Wash., Morgan Doyle of Dallas, Victoria Limely, Joshua Limely and Matthew Limely of Kyle; and great-grandson Hollis Doyle of Baton Rouge, La. There are many nieces, nephews, and loving friends also surviving her.
Jeanette was a lover of life for 84 years. Her “Celebration of Life Memorial Service” will be held at Pure Heart Fellowship Church, 5700 Mark Lane, Rowlett, Texas 75089 on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 2 p.m.
