James Donald Nash (Jim), passed away April 25, 2017.
He was born Dec. 18, 1934 in Rockwall, Texas, to William and Myrtle Edna (Foster) Nash, both of whom preceded him in death along with his brother, Max Nash, and sister, Laquita Cookston.
Jim had talent for always being on the go. He loved people and people loved him. He had an easy-going personality that enabled immediate friendships with everyone he met. He loved to tell stories, sit and visit with family, friends and co-workers; and his kindness and generosity were hallmarks of his outstanding personal character. Jim worked for Texas Instruments and retired with 30-plus years of loyal service. Never one to stay idle, Jim opened J and M Custom Caps, a successful independent business that helped him make even more friends with his wonderful and positive attitude. He enjoyed his lottery tickets, and he also made time to wind down by driving on country roads enjoying every bit of the rural and peaceful countryside that he loved so much. A gentle spirit with the world's biggest heart to help others, Jim will be truly missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Margo Nash of Terrell; children Kevin Nash of Dallas, Karen Cox and husband, Johnny of Balch Springs, Cathy Carver of Alabama, and Scott Nash and wife Beverly of Houston; grandchildren Michael Hufford, Bryan Hufford, Marc Hufford, R.J. Prisk, Tess Carver, and Shelbie Brown; great-grandchildren Sabrina, Zacary, Nathan, Alexis, Abby, Braden, Chris, Lilly, R.J. Jr., Sanaa and Omari; sister Wanda Castle and many other extended family and a host of friends.
Funeral service and celebration of Jim's life was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 2, at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel with the family receiving friends beginning at 1 p.m. to service time.
