James Roland Dupre, 81, of Rockwall passed away Nov. 24, 2013 in Dallas.
He was born Oct. 8, 1932, in Opelousas, La., to Marcel and Bridgette (Jones) Dupre. James proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He worked as the director of compliance for the Food & Drug Administration. James was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and American Legion Post 117.
He is survived by his loving wife, Emily Joy (Ortego) Dupre; children Donna Hamil and husband John, Victor Dupre and wife Becky, Paul Dupre and wife Lori and David Dupre and wife Emily; grandchildren Diana Hamil, James Alex Hamil and wife Leslie, Wesley, Natalie, Wynne, Ethan, Jason, David Wren, Leah and Cora Dupre; sister Azelma Deville and husband Jack; brother John Nathan Dupre and wife Norma; brother-in-law Berkley Ardoin; sister-in-law Elsa Dupre; and a number of nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents, brother Paul Leroy Dupre and sister Jane Ardoin.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Dec. 2, at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall Chapel with Deacon Joe Perez officiating. Interment will follow at 12:30 p.m. in DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday morning from 9 to 10 a.m, prior to the service.
