JAKE's Story

Jake Earl Williams, formerly of Rockwall, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2012.
He was born Oct. 6, 1930, in Scottsville, Va. He grew up in Scottsville and Chester, Va., and graduated from Thomas Dale High in 1948. He graduated from Hampden Sydney College with a degree in chemistry and worked in the chemical and petroleum industry all his life. Mr. Williams served in the U.S. Army during and after the Korean Conflict as a staff sergeant.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Mary Ellen; two daughters, Joanne Reardon of Smithville, Mo., and Mary Barbara Williams of Winnsboro, S.C.; two sons, Scott Williams, M.D., Ph.D. of Rocky River, Ohio, and Robert Williams, D.V.M. of Albany, Ky.; 13 grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
Mr. Williams has donated his remains to the betterment of society and will not be interred.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Alabama Senior Olympics Inc., 560 South McDonough Street, Montgomery, Ala. 36130.
