Hettie "Rachel" Davis, 102, of Rockwall, Texas, passed away Feb. 13, 2017.
She was born Nov. 17, 1914, in Union, Texas, the firstborn to her parents, Tollie Otto and Willie Lois (Anderson) Lollar. Rachel was the matriarch of her family and lived to care for all. Her passions were attending the Church of Christ, playing dominoes, and family. She enjoyed traveling the United States via covered wagon and in numerous vans she owned over the years. Rachel was honored on her 100th birthday by the Senate of the State of Texas and received the flag that was flown over the Texas State Capitol.
She passed peacefully at the home of her daughter, surrounded by many family members.
Rachel is survived by her son, Keith Collier and wife Janice of Snyder, Texas; daughter Wanda Adams and husband Ben of Flatonia, Texas; daughter-in-law Judy Collier of Rockwall; stepdaughters Rhonda Parvin and husband Don and Thaylia Atterberry, all of Rockwall; nine grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; 33 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Owen Davis; Buddy Dixon; Mirt Collier, father of her three children; son Kenneth Collier; one grandson; one great-grandson; sisters Sybil Lollar, Opal Ryan and Lois Crawford; and brothers O'Kay Lollar, Paul Lollar and Lyndon Lollar.
Her funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at Rest Haven Funeral Home - Rockwall Chapel with Mr. Blake O'Quinn officiating. Interment followed at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Mike Collier, Randy Deason, Tim Collier, Dwayne Collier, James Brown and Randy Lewis. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Ryan, Rod King and Ronnie King.
