HEIDI's Story

Heidi Lowrimore Sumter of Rockwall passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013.
Born Feb. 10, 1938, in Okemah, Okla., she was the daughter of Earl and Libbie Blackley Lowrimore.  
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Ronald Sumter of Rockwall; two sons, Steve Sumter and partner John Gresham of Sydney, Australia, and Scott Sumter of Dallas; one daughter, Stephanie Sumter-Fouche and husband Greg Fouche and their daughters, Elizabeth Fouche and Maryclaire Fouche of Columbus, Ohio.
Heidi was loved and cherished by her family and friends whom she loved and cherished in return. Painting was her lifelong hobby and many of those who loved her are left with treasures painted by Heidi. She also loved her garden where she and her husband Ron worked together to create a place to sit and enjoy the fruits of their labor. Widely known for her Cheese Grits, she was often told by those whom she shared the recipe that theirs didn’t quite taste the same. Some years ago it was discovered why when her family found her original recipe, including Tabasco that never seemed to be passed along…
A celebration of Heidi’s life will be held at the First Christian Church Rockwall on May 20, at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, Heidi’s family request donations in her memory to either the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition or Mary Crowley Cancer Research Center.
