Frank E. Roberts, 83, of Rockwall for 25 years, passed away Feb. 11, 2017. He was born Sept. 18, 1933, in New Braunfels, Texas, to Thomas L. and Barnella "Nell" (Smith) Roberts.
Frank served his country proudly in the United States Army Corps of Engineers for 32 years and retired as a lieutenant colonel. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rockwall, Sons of the American Revolution, North Texas Garden Railroad Club and the General Society of the War of 1812. Frank was a writer, genealogist and loved to travel with his sweetheart, Jane, in their motor home.
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Jane Roberts; sons, Keith Roberts and wife Ellen and Scott Roberts and wife Jody; daughters, Adele Peterman and husband Brian and Lyn Carpenter and husband Bryan; sister, Jean Dobson and husband Charles; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service was held Thursday, Feb. 16, at First United Methodist Church, Rockwall.
