Frances B. Guzan, 92, of Rockwall (for 12 years), previously of Las Vegas, Nev., passed away Jan. 24, 2017. She was born March 2, 1924, in Chicago, Ill., to Fred and Elisabeth (Bankol) Lavryk.
Frances was of the Catholic faith and was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She raised her children to love their country and all five of her sons served proudly in the United States Armed Forces during the Vietnam War, four as United States Marines and one in the United States Air Force.
She is survived by sons, Michael Guzan and wife Karen of Rockwall, Kenneth Guzan and wife Mary of Independence, La., Richard Guzan and wife Denise of New Port Richey, Fla., Donald Guzan and wife Gale of Plymouth, Va., and Leo Guzan of Elk Grove Village, Ill.; daughters, Frances Mary Guzan of Dallas and Diana Lowe of Arlington Heights, Ill.; brother, Joe Lavryk and wife Renata of Lebanon, Mo.; along with 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Guzan; parents, Fred and Elisabeth; sisters, Laura Guzan and Stella Miller; and brothers, John Lavryk and Tony Lavryk.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 3, at Rest Haven Funeral Home, Rockwall Chapel with Rev. Cheryl Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m.
