Eloise Shields, 83, of Rockwall passed away July 7, 2014.
She was born March 5, 1931, in Hunt County to Sabert Leon and Opal Lee (Tadlock) Spoonemore. Eloise was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was the epitome of a Southern lady, elegant and gracious. She married the love of her life, Joe Shields, on Dec. 19, 1947; and they were married 51 years until his death. Eloise was an excellent seamstress and artist and had a passion for gardening and cooking. She loved dogs; and Susie, Sam, Cricket and Sophie were her constant companions through the years. Eloise was a member of First Baptist Church of Rockwall and the Ruth Sunday School class.
She is survived by her son, Mike Shields and wife Debbie; daughters Beverly Stevens and husband Richard and Angela Bricker and husband Bill; a brother, Jim Spoonemore and wife Phyllis; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Eloise was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., July 10, at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall Chapel with Rev. Richard Stevens officiating; visitation will be one hour prior the service. Interment follows in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
