EDWARD's Story

Edward E Bach gave up his old earthly vessel and stepped on the heavenly isle of his Lord’s Paradise on May 3, 2014. He was 91 years old.  
Edward was born Feb. 9, 1923, in Deerfield, Illinois, to Susan Fair Eleanor Hicks and Edward Raymond Bach. He attended Northbrook elementary and high schools. His religious training was received at the Northfield Evangelical Church at Saunder Road and Dundee Rd. He became a child of God when he was 14 years old, during a revival at his church. Upon graduation from high school he was enlisted by the U.S. Army for over three years during WWII. He earned battle stars for the campaigns in Central Europe, Battle of the Bulge and Battle for the Rhine. After discharge Edward enrolled at the University of Missouri where he earned a B.S. degree with a major in marketing. Upon graduation he became employed by the Ford Division, Ford Motor Co.
In 1949 Edward married Mary Jean Taylor of Lion, Illinois, and their union was blessed with two daughters, Mary Christine of Highwood, Illinois, and Cynthia Jean of Carmel, California; three sons, Edward E. Jr. of Geneva Illinois, John Taylor of Madison Wisconsin and Thomas Alan of Fort Mill, South Carolina; three grandchildren, Daria Eleanor of Highwood, Illinois, and Justin Edward and Courtney Mararia of Geneva, Illinois.
Edward married his earthly soul mate Jewell Ann Reedy in 1977 and became the father of her children, La Donna, Michael and Darius. Michael left our world early in an accident but leaves a granddaughter Michelle of Chilhowie, Virginia. Darius married Tammy Evans of Irving, Texas, and this union was blessed with Evan Todd, Jewell Alene, Matthew and Micah who live in Dallas. La Donna married Larry Davis of Virginia and this union was blessed with two sons, Terry Marshall and Michael (Mikie) Todd. La Donna currently lives with her parents in Lindale. Terry lives in Dallas. Cradled in his Lord’s tender grasp, Mikie entered Heaven a year and half ago.
Edward spent 30 years in the corporate marketing divisions of Ford Motor Co. and Porsche-Audi Division of Volkswagen of America. His last position was Regional Sales Director for 13 states.
He served on the board of directors of Deerbank Corporation and Northern Illinois Financial Corp. He conducted many sales seminars and was a featured speaker at the International Travel training Institute and United States Land Corp.
Edward served in many church positions, such as Stephen Ministries and PADS. He was also past president of the Northfield Cemetery Association of Northern Illinois and served 16 years on the cemetery board.
He attended and was a member of many Protestant churches in Illinois, Arizona and Texas. His avocation was family, religious and historical writing, primarily as legacies for his children and grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., May 6, 2014, at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel.
