Dr. David W. Jackson, 63, of Heath passed away June 24, 2014.
He was born Aug. 27, 1950, in Dallas to Leonard Wayne Jackson and Louise Imogene Heard Jackson.
David had a love for living life to the fullest. His passion was teaching orthodontics to general dentists and being a mentor to his students. His favorite hobbies were boating, fishing, and hanging out at the coast in Rockport.
In the past, David served on the school board for Rockwall ISD. He was a master Mason and Shriner. He donated his time going on mission trips to Mexico to perform dentistry. In addition, he wrote monthly articles for the American Journal of the Orthodontic Society.
The most important things in David’s life were his family and friends. He never met a stranger in his life and will be greatly missed by all the people whose lives he touched.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Jackson; children David, Sarah, and Daniel; his sister, Deborah Jean Jackson Smith; and his niece, Melissa Smith.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., June 28, at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., June 27, at the funeral home.
