Funeral service for Dorothy Jean Cook, 73, of Wills Point, formerly of Sanger, is Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel, Wills Point. Pastor Glen Cook will officiate and interment will be at White Rose Cemetery, Wills Point.
She passed away on the morning of Monday, Dec. 18, in Wills Point.
Dorothy was born Jan. 30, 1944, in Gober, Texas, the daughter of Henry Green and Gladys White Green. She was raised in Bonham and graduated from Gober High School in 1962.
On Oct. 25, 1965, she married John Cook in Durant, Okla. Dorothy was formerly employed by the Denton Record Chronicle and the Nelson Center, both in Denton. She lived in Sanger and Mineral Wells prior to moving to Wills Point in Feb. 2017. Dorothy was a member of Bolivar Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Gladys Green; brothers, Joe Green and G.W. Green; sister, Freda Scarborough; and a son, Tommy Joe Cook on Sept. 25, 2011.
Survivors include husband, John Cook, of Wills Point; son, Mike Cook and wife, Jill Doyle-Cook, of Tucson, Ariz.; and grandchildren, Jake Doyle and Molly Jane Cook.
Pallbearers will be Mike Adams, Gary Scarborough, Austin Ray, Greg Joslin, Brian Adams and Will Lopez.
