Donna Lee Shattuck

Donna Lee (Frick) Shattuck, born on September 17th, 1930 in Los Angeles, California passed away in Dallas, Texas on January 29th, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence Henry Frick and the late Coralie Ruth (Green) Frick. Donna grew up in Los Angeles and Bakersfield, California where she graduated from Bakersfield High School in 1948. She continued her education at the University of California at Santa Barbara and received her degree in education in 1952. Donna was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority at UCSB. She taught junior high school in Pacific Grove, California, then married the late Ronald Shattuck in 1953. After raising her family in Fullerton and Placentia, California, Donna lived in Palmdale, California and Cloudcroft, New Mexico before moving to the Dallas area to be closer to family. She was preceded in death by her son, Gerald S. Shattuck (Jerry). Donna is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Shattuck) Tellez; son in law, Tom Tellez; daughter Joan (Shattuck) Simmons; son in law John Simmons; grandchildren, Daniel Simmons, Jacqueline (Simmons) Woeltge, Kurt Tellez and Kyle Tellez; great-grandchildren, Molly Simmons, Maggie Simmons and Cameron Woeltge. Known as "Frogs" to some of her sorority sisters, Donna loved to read, do crossword puzzles and eat chocolate ice cream, not necessarily in that order. She enjoyed listening to 40's music, the high desert in California, camping and making flapjacks for her family and friends. Her family would like to thank the staff at Rock Ridge Assisted Living and Memory Care in Rockwall, Texas as well as the staff at the T. Boone Pickens Hospice Center in Dallas for their loving care. A memorial and celebration of Donna's life will take place in Orange County, California in March. Donations in Donna's name to the Salvation Army are welcome and appreciated.
