Clyde V. Hamilton was born Sept. 20, 1921, outside of Kemp and passed away March 4, 2015 in Rockwall.
He will always be remembered as a man of great faith who served as a deacon at Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church and a man who truly loved his family and was a great father.
Clyde was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II in the Pacific Theater, and was a living example of a member of the “Greatest Generation.”
Clyde was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Freda Lois Hamilton; a grandson, Alex Hamilton; sisters Margie Greenhaw and Viola Moseley; and brother Buster Hamilton.
He is survived by his son, Doug Hamilton and wife Janet; a daughter, Kathie Bailey and husband Dennis; son Donald Hamilton and wife Rhonda; grandchildren Jon Bailey and wife Lori, Lyndse and Kristen Hamilton, Nicolas Hamilton and wife Shawne, Hannah Guy and husband Trey, and Stacie Hamilton and husband Eric; nine great-grandchildren; brother Grady Hamilton; sister Willie Evans; sister Janis Davis; brother Bobby Hamilton and wife Mary; sister-in-law Geraldine Evans and husband Max; brother-in-law R.V. Freeman and wife Patsy; and many extended family members.
His funeral was March 7 at 10 a.m. at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, in Dallas (75228).
