Charlotte's Story

Charlotte "Char" Jean (Kitchens) Thomson, 89, of Rockwall, Texas, previously of Santa Fe, N.M., passed away Aug. 14, 2016.
Char was born July 14, 1927, in Arkansas City, Kan., to Archie Huel Kitchens and Evelyn Mabel (McIntyre) Kitchens. She was of the Christian faith.
Char married the love of her life, Maurice "Mo," April 19, 1947, and raised a family with him in Arkansas City, Kan., until they retired to Santa Fe, N.M., in 1988, to enjoy the arts, culture and beauty of New Mexico. Char was very artistic and loved to paint and sketch. She was an avid reader and loved old movies and board games. Char and Mo enjoyed road trips in their camper and traveling together, especially to distant locations such as Paris, Canada and Mexico.
Char is survived by her loving son, W. Kit Thomson and wife Marta C. Thomson; grandchildren Kali A. Thomson and Kody A. Thomson; and a host of loving friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie H. Kitchens and Evelyn Mabel Kitchens; her beloved husband, Maurice "Mo" B. Thomson; and brothers Jerry R. Kitchens and James Richard Kitchens.
Inurnment will occur at a later date at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, N.M.
