Bill Hamill, 76, of Rockwall passed away Sept. 24, 2010, at his residence. Services were held at 10 a.m., Sept. 28, in the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel in Greenville. Rev. Brad Howard and Rev. Joe Knight officiated. Interment followed at Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville.
Mr. Hamill was born May 19, 1934, in Ringo, Okla., to Joel C. and Etter Kaylor Hamill. On June 22, 1957, he married Wilma Tucker in Stillwater, Okla. He served in the U.S. Army and was a millwright for Ford Glass Plant in Tulsa, Okla. Mr. Hamill was a member of Lake Shore Assembly of God in Rockwall.
His survivors include his wife, Wilma Hamill of Rockwall; son Terry Hamill and wife Alicia of Sand Springs, Okla.; daughters Arleen Wheeler and husband Stan of Greenville and Brenda Bunyard of Rockwall; brother Joe Hamill of Oklahoma; sisters Jean Cogburn of Sobale, Okla., and Rean Wolfe of Antlers, Okla.; and eight grandchildren, Trey, Autumn and Atalie Hamill, Bo McDaniel, Molly Bunyard, and Madison, Caleb and Cassidy Wheeler.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Pallbearers were Trey Hamill, Bo McDaniel, Glen McCartney, Paul Shaw, Lloyd Satterfield, and Willie Benoit. Honorary Pallbearer was Kenneth Swafford.
