Benjamin Franklin Ben Crawford, Jr., age 78, of Carrollton, TX, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018. He was born August 11, 1939, in Greenville, TX, to B. F. and Margaret Scott Crawford of Rockwall, TX. He was a 1957 graduate of Rockwall High School and attended Arlington State College of The University of Texas where he graduated in 1966, with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He was employed by American Electric Power (APE) in Dallas, TX, until his retirement in June 2008. Ben was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Ben is survived by his wife of 27 years: Kay Schmitt Crawford of Carrollton; stepchildren: Charles McKinney of Coppell, TX, Kimberly Reeder of Allen, TX, and Kristine Hite of Hickory Creek, TX; sister: Rosemary Crawford Miller and husband Fred of Sumner, TX; former wife: Beverly Crawford of Waxahachie, TX; nephew: Scott Grumbles and wife Tamara of Nederland, TX; nieces: Terrie Looney and husband Larry of Hamshire, TX, Shannon Crane and husband Ronnie of Orangefield, TX, and Georgiana Flournoy and husband Patrick of Nederland, TX; along with numerous cousins, great nieces, great nephews and step grandchildren. Ben was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Betsy Faye Crawford.

Memorial services will be held 1:00pm Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home Rockwall Locations. As an alternative to flowers, memorials in Bens name may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation at 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131 or online at www.parkinson.org.
