Austin's Story

Austin Albert Quillin Jr., 94, of Heath, Texas, passed away Sept. 6, 2016.
He was born Jan. 4, 1922, in Fouke, Ark., to Austin Albert Quillin and Rachael Ophelia Quillin. Austin served his country proudly in the United States Army during WWII. After 38 years with Borden Dairy Co., he retired in 1984. Austin was a member of First Baptist Church of Heath and loved teaching his bible classes on Sunday mornings. Austin loved fishing and hunting with his wife and camping and boating with the family. He was an avid gardener and could fix anything. Austin was an incredible role model and an excellent story teller. A loving and wonderful father and husband, he took good care of his family.
He is survived by the girl of his dreams, his loving wife of 72 years, Sibble Roberson Quillin; sister Theresa Webb; daughter Judy Stohle and husband Jerry; sons Bob Quillin and wife Vanessa Morgan and Ed Quillin and wife Mary; grandchildren Andrea Linhart and husband Brian, Jim Quillin and wife Kate Trevorrow, Melissa Spangler and husband Lysle, Crystal Zimmerman and husband Geoff and John Quillin and wife Romina; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Alma Lanier and brother Lynn Quillin.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at First Baptist Church of Heath, 224 Smirl Dr., in Heath with Pastor Paul Jacobs officiating. Interment followed in Heath Cemetery, 224 Smirl Dr., in Heath.
Rest Haven Funeral Home - Rockwall Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
