Jimmy "J.D." Holt, 68, a resident of Richardson, Texas, for 13 years passed away Feb. 11, 2017.
He was born Sept. 24, 1948, to Jefferson Davis Holt and Clara (Latham) Holt. He was of the Baptist faith, an avid reader, and loved to travel, especially on vacations with his family. He proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard Reserves and retired from the Dallas Police Department after 37 years of faithful service.
He is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Nancy Holt; children Jennifer Holt, Chad Holt, Jesse Holt and James Ogle and wife Jodi; grandchildren Lauren Holt, Bailph Maynard, Dylan Amacher, Twila Faith Holt, Shaun Andrews, Bella Holt, Allison Holt and Quinn Ogle; great-grandson Ian Price; brother-in-law Tom Dignan; special nephew Lee Jones and wife Jennifer; great-nephew Glen Lee Jones; sisters-in-law Linda Jones and husband Al and Mary Lotz and husband Gregg; along with a host of loving relatives and friends.
J.D. was preceded in death by his parents, son Jeffrey Dale Holt and sister Naomi (Holt) Dignan.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at First Baptist Church, 610 S. Goliad, Rockwall, 75087, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Inurnment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
