"Gus" Seabolt, 75, a lifelong resident of Rockwall, Texas, passed away June 3, 2016.
He was born Jan. 5, 1941, in Kaufman County, Texas, to James E. Seabolt and Lillian Agnes (Woolridge) Seabolt. Gus was very well known in his community and was a member of Chisholm Baptist Church in McLendon-Chisholm. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army. A retired machinist from U.S. Steel, Gus restored leather shoes, boots and saddles and also worked shining boots locally at a downtown barbershop on the square, which made for a very social time. He was a member of a local motorcycle club and enjoyed riding, along with golfing, playing guitar and singing. Gus was very involved in the AA Program and was always available to help and visit with anyone who needed him.
He is survived by his children, Amy Seabolt, Mike Seabolt and wife Brooke, Andrea Seabolt, Mitchell Seabolt, Justin Seabolt and Cheyenne Seabolt; grandchildren Jacob Seabolt, Ashley Seabolt and Lilly; and numerous nieces and nephews along with a host of loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lillian Seabolt, and brother James Mack Seabolt.
A Night of Remembrance was held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel.
