Bobby Joe "Bob" Shindler, 77, of Royse City, Texas, passed away June 30, 2017.
He was born Feb. 5, 1940, in Celina, Texas, to Arel Smith Shindler and Hazel B. (Weems) Shindler. Bob was the owner/operator of Blackland Car and Truck Parts in Royse City. He was very well known and loved in his community. Bob was easily identified by the fedora he always wore and the cigar in his mouth. He was accompanied to work daily by his dog, Scruffy.
Mr. Shindler is survived by his children, Debby McCloud of Caddo Mills, Texas, Patricia Johnson of Rockwall, Texas, Sheila Shaw of Fate, Texas, and Russell Trotter and wife Lynn of Carrollton, Texas; grandchildren Kristal Coyle and husband Cameron of Royse City, Laura Burris and husband Tommy of Waco, Texas, Dani Loomis of Forney, Texas, Maryelle Stephenson of Fate, Amber Rusheon of Emory, Texas, Ashley Kirkman and husband Cody of Quinlan, Texas, Austin Shindler of Tawakoni, Texas, Brock Shindler of Weatherford, Okla., Jerrad Daniels and wife Rebecca of Fate, Derek Daniels of Caddo Mills, Alyssa Trotter of The Colony, Texas, and Michael Trotter of Dallas, Texas; 14 great-grandchildren; sister Shirley Bleeker; precious dogs Scruffy and Trixi; and numerous nieces and nephews, along with a host of loving relatives and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife Sandra Kay Flippo Shindler in April 2015; sons Danny Loomis, Glenn Shindler and Brad Shindler; grandson Blain Shindler; and siblings Eddie Shindler, Virginia Coppell, Frankie Shindler, Roger Shindler and Connie Roberson.
Funeral service was held 10 a.m., Thursday, July 6, at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Royse City Chapel. Interment followed in Royse City Cemetery.
The family received friends Wednesday evening at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m.
