ALLEN's Story

Allen Leroy Christian, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and captain of the Christian Clan sailed away to heaven May 15, 2014.
Born April 20, 1939, he graduated from Carter Riverside High School class of 1957 where he was a member if the ROTC Cadet Corps for four years.  
From there, he earned his Ph.D. in education from North Texas University.
Allen cherished his friendships with members of Sons of the American Revolution, Sons of the Confederate Veterans and Rockwall Citizens on Patrol.
He enjoyed telling about opening the doors of Eastfield Community College where he taught math for 44 years. He was an Eagle Scout and member of Alpha Phi Omega, the National Boy Scout Fraternity.
Allen’s devotion to God and to his Savior brought him through many hardships.  
He was a dedicated member of Lake Pointe Church in Rockwall where he had served as captain of ushers for a number of years. Allen was an avid genealogist, historian and part-time archaeologist.  
He was preceded in death by his father, A.D. Christian, and his mother, Ivah Frances Christian.  
Survivors include his wife, Jane Christian; his daughter, Kim Blain and husband Chris; his son, Allen Leroy Christian Jr.; grandsons Gannon and Kyler Blain; honorary granddaughter Kayla Blain-Burnside; a brother, Byron Christian and wife Dixie Christian; nephew Jeffrey Christian; niece Colleen Miller; great-neice Samantha Christian and great-nephew Nikolas Christian.

The celebration of a life well lived was held at 10 a.m., May 19, at Lake Pointe Church, Pier 419, 701 E. I-30, Rockwall 75087 with Dr. Timothy Warren officiating. Interment followed in Rest Haven Memorial Park. Rest Haven — Rockwall Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
